Kim was born and raised in the Wyoming Valley of Pennsylvania. A graduate of Wyoming Valley West High School, Kim earned her Associates Degree in Broadcasting from Luzerne County Community College and went on to graduate from Kutztown University with a bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications and a concomitant in Speech and Political Science. While at Luzerne County Community College, Kim co-anchored the school’s first ever television newscast, and was a DJ on the college’s radio station WSFX-FM. Having lived in the Hazleton area for the past ten years Kim describes herself as having a “love “ for news, and joined the WYLN news team in August of 2002. On her days off, Kim enjoys spending time with her husband Brian and their two children.
